The end of term is fast approaching and I am sure you are looking forward to the festive break as much as we are.
As it is the season of giving, many of our parents/carers may wish to get a gift in appreciation for their child’s teacher. I wanted to write and let you know that whilst it is a lovely gesture, and well received, you should not feel obliged to do so. We understand that Christmas is an expensive time and would not wish to add to this for you.
Should you feel that you would like to offer a gift of some sort we would encourage a gift in the form of a donation to a local charity or foodbank or our E-ACT Ambassador projects . Equally we would value a gift of any time you have to volunteer with us for example as an academy reader.
If you feel that you do wish to give a gift to a teacher, please be aware that our academy trust has a Gifts and Hospitability Policy ( available on our E-ACT website) which has some rules we must adhere. This for example includes the fact we cannot accept gifts of alcohol and would need to refuse them. We also share gifts among the teams wherever possible.
