Year 6 Transition
Welcome to Parkwood E-ACT Academy!
We are delighted that you are joining us in September and we can’t wait to meet you. We understand moving from Primary School to Secondary School can be an exciting but anxious time for both students and parents and we are committed to ensuring the transition is as smooth as possible for all students.
We have put together a range of resources and events to help you get to know the academy and introduce you to key members of staff who are here to support you through your transition.
Over the next few weeks all Year 6s who are joining us in September will receive an exciting delivery of goodies through their Primary school. It will also contain information on our upcoming transition days, more details of which can be found below.
Please take a picture of you with your goodie bag and tag us on social media (@ParkwoodAcademy) using the #I’mComingtoParkwood.
We are delighted to be able to welcome our future Year 7s into the academy for a series of transition days. These will be held on Monday 5th July, Tuesday 6th July and Wednesday 7th July and will be a chance to explore the academy, meet other students starting with you in September as well as the staff who will be supporting you. More details to follow!
We will be holding our annual summer school from Monday 16th August – Friday 20th August and all our future Year 7s are invited! This is a great chance to make new friends and get to know the academy and staff during fun -filled days, before you start school in September. More details will be posted to your houses soon.
We understand a lot of parents and students didn’t get the chance to visit Parkwood Academy this year and being able to look together at home may ease some anxieties and help you get to know your way around, as well as being able to meet all your teachers. We are working hard on finalising a virtual tour of the academy which includes lots of useful resources, videos and images and allows you to explore the academy from home. We will be posting you a link to this over the next few weeks.
