Welcome to E-ACT Parkwood Academy!
We are delighted that you are joining us in September and we can’t wait to meet you. We understand moving from Primary School to Secondary School can be an exciting but anxious time for both students and parents and we are committed to ensuring the transition is as smooth as possible for all students.
We have put together a range of resources and events to help you get to know the academy and introduce you to key members of staff who are here to support you through your transition.

Over the next few weeks all Year 6s who are joining us in September will receive an exciting delivery of goodies through their Primary school. It will also contain information on our upcoming events, more details of which can be found below.

Key dates 2024
To help make the transition from primary school to secondary school as smooth as possible we will be hosting a range of informative and social events for you to join. Please see the dates below and put them in your diary, more details of each will be sent to you prior to the event.

Friendship Afternoon | Tuesday 16th April 2024 | 4.00pm-5.00pm - Doors open at 3.45 | Parents and Pupils | Parents will receive a tour of the Academy and will meet with the Headteacher and other staff. Pupils will take part in an exciting programme of lessons which will excite and engage them. |
Transition (Induction) Days | 2nd – 4th July 2024 | 8.30am-3.10pm | Pupils | Pupils will take part in an exciting programme of lessons which will excite and engage them. |
Summer School | 19th – 23rd August 2024 | 9am-3pm | Pupils | We will be holding our annual summer school during the summer holidays of 2024 and all our future Year 7's are invited! This is a great chance to make new friends and get to know the academy and staff during fun -filled days, before you start school in September. |
Primary Visits | March-August | TBC | Pupils | Between now and September we will be conducting a number of visits to your child's primary school. This will involve us getting to know your child and obtaining information in preparation for their arrival, as well as us taking Parkwood students who attended their primary to talk to them about moving up to secondary school and to support them through their transition. |

Personal Visits
