The Music Department at E-ACT Parkwood Academy enables student experience, study and create music on a wide range of instruments and musical styles as well as a varied extra-curricular activities and school funded instrumental lessons.

Parkwood E-AT Academy has extremely well-resourced department where can students benefit from a fantastic learning environment complete with two full iMac computer suites, electronic and vinyl DJ decks, pitched and un-pitched percussion, guitars, pianos, ukulele, bass guitars, DAWs and a recording studio.

Through Parkwood’s curriculum students will study composing, band performance and solo performance using Garageband, piano, guitar, bass, drums and DJ software.

At Parkwood we believe that music is for everyone, so every student is encouraged to develop and showcase their talent. We offer one-to-one and small group tuition on a range of instruments including guitar, bass, DJ, drums, pop orchestras and string.

In recent years students have been taken to see inspirational performances by the likes of Halle Orchestra, Music in The Round, Sara Yasin, John Ball, the Shine Project and Hamilton.

Over the last academic year our students have taken part in composition projects with the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Music Hub, Music in The Round and Ensemble 360. Parkwood’s Key Stage Four students a preparing their first composition for release and rehearsing for their final performance.
