As a sport specialist academy, students at E-ACT Parkwood Academy enjoy a wide-range of physical activities including football, badminton, basketball, handball, gymnastics, dance, trampolining, cricket, rounders, athletics and so much more.

Throughout the year extra-curricular offers include  football, basketball, cycling, fitness, badminton, trampolining, boxing, dance, snooker/pool, athletics, rounders, rugby, handball & table tennis. We are supported by Sheffield United, the English Cricket Board, Sheffield Sharks Basketball, Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, Sheffield Eagles Rugby League, British Cycling – Trek Mountain Bike Project among others.

Our brightest sporting prospects are given the platform to develop their skills and talent at an elite level, with many students having been selected to represent the city at county level and as part of Team GB at international level. Our young football stars also represent youth academies at professional football clubs including Rotherham United FC, Sheffield United FC and Sheffield Wednesday.

At E-ACT Parkwood Academy students are encouraged to develop personal leadership skills and be involved in leading lower years and primary school children in external events. This includes the Partnership games which is attended by over 750 primary school children, Arches leadership academy where our pupils are asked to lead in a variety of primary school events. We also love to support our feeder schools with their sports days and other evnts.

Students also enjoy sports experiences and rewards trips which in recent times have included attending live football matches (Opening ceremony and game of Women’s Euros, Man City champions league games, Manchester United Europa League Game, Sheffield Sharks basketball games, free tickets to local team Sheffield United, Sheffield Eagles Rugby league game with the chance to represent Parkwood on the pitch beforehand, indoor climbing and bouldering.

We also take pupil on a overseas sport trip, with this year being a trip to Milan to play matches, watch a Italian Serie A game and attend a theme park. The last trip was an excursion to Ajax, Holland.
