February Half Term Free School Meal Vouchers

Dear Parent/Carer,

Please see the information below from the Local Authority in connection with Free School Meal Vouchers over the Half Term period.

  • Every FSM eligible child will receive a £20 voucher for February Half Term break. This is made up of £15 to cover food and £5 per child towards energy costs.  All children who are currently eligible for FSM and registered for FSM up to 12th February will be eligible to benefit from this scheme.  Please note that this refers to children who are eligible for ‘benefits-based’ FSM and not UIFSM.
  • The government Winter Grant funding also enables us to support other vulnerable families who do not receive FSM. We have identified other eligible children who receive support from social care and MAST. These additional children have been included in the cohort and will also receive the food vouchers.
  • We have produced a short ‘How to…’ video for parents.

The Video can be downloaded here:

(Please note you need to open this in Chrome browser to download)

You can also link directly to the video on Youtube – https://youtu.be/n8B8y-PeF8U

The Process

  • The Local Authority will be sending out Food Voucher letters out directly to parents. The letter will include the website link for Edenred and clear instructions on how to download your voucher.
  • Parents will need to go to the following website to redeem their February half term vouchers – selectyourcompliment.co.uk/grocery this is the same link that has been used for the Christmas vouchers

Please note this is not to be confused with the following links:

www.selectyourcompliment.co.uk  – October Half Term Vouchers

www.selectyourcompliment.co.uk/dfe – for the DfE/government funded scheme

The links are all slightly different, and if the wrong one is used to redeem the voucher it will not work, and an error message will appear

Parents should then:

  • Enter their unique 16-digit eCode and select their chosen supermarket
    • The downloaded E-Gift Card/Voucher will arrive by email within 24 hours. If the parent can’t find this, they should check their Junk/Spam folder
    • If a parent has ordered a physical gift card, they should allow 3-4 days for them to be sent out by post
    • Please note parents need to activate their code within 3 months or it will expire. Once they have claimed their voucher on the Edenred website the voucher will be valid for 12 months.
  • The FSM Voucher helpline will be available on 0114 2734567, option 4, option3, and can offer help to parents experiencing difficulties with their e-Codes or with general FSM enquiries.

Many thanks
