Sheffield United Firsts Project

 

Parkwood’s budding Spielbergs recently took part in an eight-week heritage film project in partnership with Sheffield United Football Club.

The Sheffield United Firsts Project gave students the one-off opportunity to work with professional film-makers to create and produce a documentary exploring the milestone firsts of Bramall Lane, one of football’s oldest grounds, and its historical impact on the beautiful game.

 

The students attended workshops at the Sheffield United Football Academy and Bramall Lane, where they learned about the art of filmmaking as well as interviewing former Sheffield United legends Lenn Badger and Tony Currie for their documentary.

The Firsts Project also gave students unprecedented access to film at Sheffield United’s Legends Museum, the Sheffield Archives and behind the scenes at a live football match.

 

The team made a promotional stop at BBC Radio Sheffield before unveiling their 20-minute film onWednesday 19th July at a private screening celebration event at Bramall Lane with their families, members of the United Board of Directors and The Lord Mayor of Sheffield in attendance.
