Sora at Parkwood E-Act
Parkwood E-ACT Academy is committed to bringing unique learning opportunities to our students and we are pleased to introduce a new, free reading service providing digital books through Sora, the student reading app.
Why Sora?
The collection of titles in Sora is an extension of Parkwood E-ACT Academy’s physical library, only it’s in an app with 24/7 access to e-books and audiobooks. It’s convenient for students to check out titles at home, on the weekends or during school breaks with no worry about misplacing a book or running up late fees – these digital titles automatically return at the end of the lending period!
Sora can help students of all ages read more and improve comprehension. Struggling or reluctant readers, learning-challenged, second language learners, and gifted readers can all benefit from this service.

Summer Reading Challenges
Over the summer we want to encourage our students to get busy and get reading! To encourage them to do that we are launching 2 reading challenges:
The Sweet Reads Summer Reading Challenge 2023
Students must complete 7 different reading challenges over the course of the summer holidays. Every student who successfully completes the challenge and hands in their completed (and validated) task sheet to Mr Register will be rewarded with a coveted golden token for the Academy’s book vending machine!
Pro Book Nerds Summer Challenge 2023
For the hard-core readers out there, there is this epic 12 challenge monster to stretch even the most ardent readers among you! Finish this beat and hand in your completed (and validated) task sheet and earn yourself a £15 book token!
In addition, all students who enter either of our reading competitions will be put into a draw to win a £50 gift voucher!
