The Brilliant Club
During the last term 7 pupils took part in ‘The Brilliant Club’. During these sessions they worked with a PHD tutor from the University of Sheffield called Apurba Chatterjee on her PHD topic of Spectacular Empire: Culture, Politics and Representation in Britain and India 1760-1920. The pupils worked through a specialist work book designed by their tutor and had to complete a 2000 word assignment at the end. This was marked by their PHD tutor, with Parkwood students receiving 2:2 or 2:1 grades.
Students then attended an awards evening on Thursday 7th February with students from other Brilliant Club school, where they received their certificates for passing their course.
